Separate the context from the decision
The ScenarioList below contains two cases.context describes who has one export left; message describes the consequence of exporting now. The question combines those fields and asks the model to choose Export now, Wait, or Need more information:
Examine choices alongside the contexts
With model access configured, run both cases and select the fields needed to interpret the choices:choice, as shown in Survey logic and piping. That follow-up produces a model-generated explanation you can read alongside the choice.
Extend the design
Add scenarios to vary the situation while keeping the decision question fixed. Preserve separate fields for each factor, such as who controls the resource and whether it can be replenished, so results can be grouped by those factors. Experimental conditions explains how to cross scenarios with agent profiles. Use scenarios for what is happening in the described situation. Use agents when you also want to specify who the model should answer as, such as a team lead with a particular responsibility. Use Prompt sensitivity when your main interest is the effect of instructions rather than facts about the situation. Attach a ModelList to compare models, or usejob.run(n=3) for repeated responses to each case. Keep those model and iteration identifiers when comparing the outputs. These designs characterize the configured models’ responses to your descriptions. If your question concerns how people make the same decision, collect corresponding responses through Human studies.
